    Tai Chi is often considered to be a means of working out with the aim of better fitness and wellbeing. It is a slow form of martial arts and, as such, has been considered to be more for exercise than actual sparring or self defense. Furthermore, it is considered to be a form that helps calm the mind, more than one that builds martial arts skills.

    But is this true?

    Yes and no. It is true that Tai Chi is, today, considered more of a routine for physical wellbeing and emotional and mental wellness. However, it is also true that Tai Chi can be an excellent form of martial arts capable of defeating opponents. Furthermore, it is one of the few martial arts forms that allows you to strengthen your energies. This means that you can fight of stress of daily problems as well as the stress of facing off with an opponent equally easily and confidently. This gives you further strength and energy than other martial arts forms such as Kung Fu or Muay Thai. So how can one learn Tai Chi as a form of martial arts and not as just an exercise routine?
